Chers membres,

Vous avez sans doute constaté en lisant les journaux ou en écoutant vos bulletins de nouvelles que le gouvernement a récemment adopté son projet de loi 15 visant à améliorer le système de santé. En tant qu’association, nous avons vu passer de nombreuses réformes et trop souvent, les effets de ces réformes ont été mitigées.

Cependant, donnons la chance au coureur. Nous allons suivre de près le déploiement de ces changements. Mais une chose est certaine : les services de maintien à domicile sont une priorité plus qu’urgente et avec les derniers rapports de la Commissaire à la santé et au bien-être, on constate que le travail à faire est colossal. Restons donc vigilants.

En terminant, je tiens à vous souhaiter à tous et à toutes de passer une agréable période de fin d’année auprès de vos proches. Nous sommes nombreux à profiter de cette période pour nous reposer, nous ressourcer et apprécier cette accalmie avant la reprise de janvier. Soyez prudents et au plaisir de reprendre le travail au retour !

Nouvelles des Invalides au front

Ce regroupement de citoyennes, citoyens se mobilise afin d’obtenir du gouvernement qu’il mette fin à la pénalité injuste qui peut sévèrement réduire la prestation de rente de retraite dès qu’une personne invalide y a droit. Le gouvernement conteste la décision du tribunal et l’a porté en appel à la Cour supérieure.

Le 23 novembre dernier, Madame Linda Caron, porte-parole de l’opposition officielle pour les aînés, a déposé un projet de loi (no 690) demandant de faire cesser cette iniquité envers les retraités invalides. Antérieurement, le 31 octobre, les trois partis d’opposition avaient uni leur voix et tendu la main au gouvernement dans le cadre d’une conférence de presse transpartisane, demandant de corriger cette situation, le tout en présence de Madame Caron, Monsieur Haroun Bouazzi et Monsieur Joël Arseneau. Malheureusement, leur voix n’a pas été entendu.

Vaccin contre le zona – Information

La section AQDR de Jonquière a soumis une pétition au gouvernement du Québec qui a rendu gratuite la vaccination contre le zona aux personnes âgées de 80 ans et plus ainsi que les personnes immunodéprimées.

Campagne de sensibilisation à l’Accessibilité universelle (AU) de la Société logique

La Société logique est une organisation dédiée à la promotion du design universel et à la création d’environnements accessibles pour tous. Le design universel est un concept qui s’assure que tout aménagement, produit, équipement, programme ou service puisse être utilisé par toute personne quel que soit son âge, sa situation ou son handicap.

La pétition demande au gouvernement du Québec de modifier le Code de construction du Québec pour rendre obligatoire l’application des principes du design universel dans tous les nouveaux logements.
